Second Sunday after Christmas
Massimo Palombella
The Gradual of today’s celebration is taken from Psalm 44 (Ps 44, 2. 3) with the following text:
Speciosus forma prae filiis hominum:
diffusa est gratia in labiis tuis.
Eructavit cor meum verbum bonum:
dico ego opera mea regi.
Lingua mea calamus scribae velociter scribentis.
(Your beauty surpasses that of all the children of men;
grace is poured out upon your lips.
My heart overflows with a goodly theme;
I address my works to the King;
my tongue is like the pen of an agile scribe).
The attached music, in Gregorian Chant, is taken from the Graduale Triplex published in Solesmes in 1979. The interpretation is by the ‘Choeur des moines de l’abbaye Notre Dame de Fontgombault’.
A blessed Sunday and heartfelt greetings.
